Is a Full Professor of European Union Law in the Department of Law at the University of Turin. Previously, he taught European Union Law and International Law at the University of Eastern Piedmont and the University of Valle d’Aosta, where he also served as Vice-Rector, Dean of the Faculty, and Head of Department.

He was Vice President of the Italian Society of International Law and European Union Law (SIDI) from 2013 to 2014, and Director of the Inter-University Center for the Law of International Economic Organizations (CIDOIE) from 2009 to 2015.

He is currently the Director of the Master's Program in Global Strategy and Security (SGS), organized by the University of Turin and the Italian Center for Higher Defense Studies (CASD). He is the author of more than one hundred scientific publications, including two monographs and ten edited volumes. Among his most recent works: M. Vellano, A. In 2018, he was awarded the Prix Spécial FFA – Turgot de la francophonie for the work “Éthique globale, bonne gouvernance et droit international économique”, edited by L. Manderieux and M. Vellano.

A graduate of the Centre for Studies and Research in International Law and International Relations of The Hague Academy of International Law (1997), he has delivered and continues to deliver lectures and conferences on institutional aspects of the European Union and its external relations in both Italian and foreign universities.

He is a lawyer, specializing in International Law and European Union Law.
He has been a Member of the Board of Directors of the CSF Foundation since 2022.
